Spotlight: Great Tech Companies from Saskatoon

After chatting about my recent "Women in Tech" award on CTV Morning Live, I wanted to talk about the momentum that is happening in the Saskatchewan tech scene. I highlighted some great Saskatoon tech companies, but I should add, there were too many successful companies to mention during the short segment (I could have talked for hours).

Here are some of them:

1 . Co.Labs

Saskatchewan’s first technology incubator, Co.Labs specializes in connecting startups with world class tech entrepreneurs who have been through the same grind and won. At the same time, they connect founders with tools to accelerate their venture. If you are thinking of starting a tech product (or you have one started), reach out to these folks to see if they can help.

2. Ora

Ora is a company that created a personal alarm system that sends emergency alerts and your GPS coordinates to your contacts. You can connect it to your phone through their app so that your loved ones get the alert and your phone automatically calls 911. Also great for people that work alone, you can buy it as an elegant key chain, or as a gorgeous pendant for your favorite necklace.

3. SafetyTek

These fellows created safety software for large construction sites that makes it a lot easier to manage safety policy and compliance while eliminating most of the annoying paperwork that takes a lot of time.

4. Curbie.ca

Curbie was born with the goal of taking the frustration out of buying and selling vehicles in Saskatoon. They sell cars online and all vehicles are delivered to the buyer’s door. All vehicles have been tested to make sure they were never in an accident and have not had more than two previous owners.

5. Athlete-Era

Augmented reality to help kids in their sport and fitness skill techniques. In short, this is a movement learning app where you can track your movements and get recommendations on what to improve.

6. Coconut Software

This company offers an Enterprise Appointment Scheduling Platform that is strategically engineered for the appointment-driven business. It allows organizations to manage on-demand and pre-booked appointments all in one platform.

I'm lucky enough to write about the cool tech companies in Saskatchewan for Innovation Saskatchewan. Subscribe to their email list or social media to see many more incredible companies.
