New Year, New You: Saskatchewan Tech to Keep your New Year’s Resolutions

It’s said that most people abandon their New Year’s resolutions by the second weekend of the month. It’s not because we lack ambition. It’s because meaningful change requires better systems, not just more willpower.

In this tech segment of CTV Your Morning Saskatchewan I had the opportunity to share a few of our Saskatchewan-built technologies that can help you achieve your 2026 goals. From speaking confidence, to saving money on groceries, to staying active through our long winters, to creating a fresh look for your home - local innovators are quietly building tools that make everyday goals more achievable.

Here are a few of the Saskatchewan tech companies I shared on air.

Speak Better, Lead Better: TrackPoint.AI

So many resolutions fall into the category of “I want to be more confident” — at work, in interviews, in leadership roles, or in hard conversations we’ve been putting off.

Founded in Saskatoon, TrackPoint.AI tackles this head-on. The platform allows you to practice speaking on video — whether that’s a presentation, a tough conversation, or a job interview — and then uses AI to analyze your delivery. You receive actionable feedback, suggestions for improvement, and a score that tracks your progress over time.

New Year, New Confident You.

Save Money on Groceries: BetterCart

If your resolution is to save money on groceries — BetterCart Analytics is worth knowing about.

Built in Saskatoon by Melanie Morrison and her team, BetterCart lets you compare grocery prices across stores in your area. You enter your postal code, select your products, and see where the best prices are.

You’re welcome!

Get Active: Biktrix

Biktrix, founded in Saskatoon by Roshan Thomas, has grown into a national electric bike brand, but many people don’t realize its roots are local. Biktrix designs their own e-bikes, including models that can handle winter riding (I commend you if you are biking in Saskatchewan in January).

Roshan has been a leader in the e-bike revolution and it all started here!

Update your Space: Metricly

The brainchild of Metric Design, Metricly learns about your style and allows you to design the perfect space for 2026 habits. Whether you are finding your zen or going glam, this tech can help you visualize your dream room. A fresh environment can bring a fresh attitude - give your space a little zing this year.

A Final Thought

Resolutions don’t fail because people are lazy. They fail because the systems around us don’t support change. If you’ve already stumbled this January, you haven’t failed. You may just need better tools — and it turns out, some of the best ones are being built right here at home.
